Breast cancer event set
During National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Courage Unlimited is sponsoring its first breast cancer conference, "Breast Cancer Undressed Still Beautiful Downunder," 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at Nevada Partners Center, 710 W. Lake Mead Blvd.
Participants will learn about risk factors, early detection and prevention methods and changes an individual can make to lower the risk of getting breast cancer.
Registration donation is $25; $35 for vendor registration donation.

Hospitality awards scheduled
The Network of Executive Women in Hospitality will present its HOSPY Awards for Excellence 6 p.m. Saturday in the Pavilion Ballrom of the Golden Nugget.
The evening's festivities will feature a silent auction and a no-host cocktail reception, followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and the program at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $125 for members; $150 for nonmembers. Call 429-1623.
Learn blacksmithing at county museum
The public is invited to experience yesterday today at the Clark County Museum's "Destination Yesterday" program 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the museum, 1830 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.
Demonstrations include blacksmithing, rope making, tatting, quilting and washboard laundry.
Visitors to Destination Yesterday may choose to watch the museum's demonstrators at work or try a "hands-on" experience with the historic crafts.
Admission is $1.50; $1 for children and seniors. Call 455-7955.
"Harmonic Life
in Defense of the Love in the Home and in the World," a workshop from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the North Las Vegas Library, 2300 Civic Center Drive, North Las Vegas, will teach how to eliminate internal contradictions.
