ATLANTIC CITY -- Four people have been arrested and charged with an armed robbery of Bally's Wild Wild West Casino on the Fourth of July that police said was an inside job.
Casino cashier Stephanie Nesmith, 23, handed over $39,000 to a gunman who had given her a note demanding money at about 1 a.m. that day, according to police. Nesmith did not set off an alarm and an investigation later determined that she helped plan the robbery, police said.
She was arrested at her Atlantic City home on Thursday and charged with conspiracy and robbery.
The investigation by the state police Special Investigations Unit of the Casino Gaming Bureau also led to charges of conspiracy and robbery against Aaron Baytops, 22, of Stratford, Camden County. Police said Baytops was the gunman.
Also charged were Veronica Potosky, 21, and Christopher Perz, 22, both of Ocean City. They were involved in planning and committing the robbery and were also charged with conspiracy and robbery, according to police.
