Duck Derby will help kids charity
The Foundation for Positively Kids' fifth annual Duck Derby will be noon-6 p.m. Sunday at the Galleria at Sunset, 1300 Sunset Road.
Adopted ducks will be placed in the water at Galleria's Center Court and then plucked at 3 p.m. Each duck will be labeled with an adoption number and anyone whose duck is plucked will receive a prize. The last duck plucked will receive the grand prize, which is a one-year lease on a new Saturn.
Ducks can be adopted for $5 at Galleria at Sunset, Money Tree, KQOL 93.1-FM, KVVU Channel 5, Las Vegas Press, Saturn of Henderson, Nevada Federal Credit Union, Green Valley Sport, Sculpt Medical Spa and Salon, Kelly Hawkins Physical Therapy offices and the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce.

Greyhound group to host park event
Greyhound Pets of America will host the 10th annual Las Vegas Greyhound Picnic in the Park from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Floyd Lamb State Park, 9200 Tule Springs Road.
The event will feature lunch, vendors, calendars, books, jewelry, greyhound artwork, decorative items, silent and live auctions and a raffle.
The park is north of U.S. 95 off Durango Drive.

Treats for a Trick
at PetsMart's National Howl-o-Ween event will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Each pet party guest will get a free glow in the collar charm (while supplies last).

Dr. Arthur J. Dalton will present Health Problems
of Growing Older with Down's Syndrome 7-9 p.m. Friday in Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center's Auditorium, 3186 S. Maryland Parkway. Dalton's presentation will cover some of the most frequent conditions that are more likely to affect older persons with Down's syndrome, including the connection between Down's syndrome and Alzheimer disease.
