ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 34

Thursday, Oct. 14, 2004 | 12:43 p.m.

Assembly District 34 Democratic incumbent William Horne is unchallenged but, by law, must appear on the general election ballot and receive at least one vote to earn a second term.

Clark County Registrar of Voters Larry Lomax said for partisan races Nevada law requires an unopposed candidate to appear on the general election ballot to give all district voters a chance to vote for the office.

In nonpartisan races, all unopposed candidates, except for those seeking Nevada Supreme Court seats, can be elected to office on the primary ballot. The high court exception is written into the state constitution.
