Anniversary schedule

The Goldwell Open Air Museum celebrates the 20th anniversary of the making of "The Last Supper" sculpture in a series of events in Beatty, 115 miles north of Las Vegas on Highway 95, and at the Goldwell Open Air Museum, five miles west of Beatty on Highway 374.
Friday
8 p.m.: Film screening of "Death Valley Project: The Making of the Last Supper Sculpture," Sourdough Saloon, 106 W. Main St., Beatty.
Saturday
8 a.m. Walking tour of Goldwell Open Air Museum and Rhyolite.
9 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Children's activities and historic exhibit.
1 p.m.: Film screening of "Death Valley Project: The Making of the Last Supper Sculpture," Beatty Community Center, 100 A Avenue S., Beatty.
2 p.m. to 4 p.m.: Panel discussion on art making in the desert featuring author and poet William Fox; Richard Francaviglia, geographer and author of "Believing in Place: A Spiritual Geography of the Great Basin"; environmental artist Kim Abeles; and Diane Perlov, an anthropologist who oversees development of programming for the J. Paul Getty Foundation Art & Science Gallery.
The discussion will be held at the Beatty Community center, 100 A Avenue S., Beatty.
6 p.m. to 8 p.m.: 20th Anniversary "Last Supper" dinner and silent auction, Beatty Senior Center, 150 A Avenue S., Beatty. Tickets are $50.
Sunday
8 a.m.: Walking tour of Goldwell Open Air Museum and Rhyolite.
9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Children's activities and historic exhibit.
1 p.m.: Film screening of "Death Valley Project: The Making of the Last Supper Sculpture."
