Teen Read Week to be celebrated
The Las Vegas Clark County Library District is asking teens to read for the fun of it to celebrate Teen Read Week Sunday through Oct. 23.
Teens will be eligible to earn a chance to win a pair of free tickets to the Fright Dome II at the Adventuredome Theme Park.
Teens can read a horror book or watch a horror movie and submit a review online at www.lvccld.org/teens.

NLV rental program to be discussed
Spanish speaking residential rental property owners and managers, along with the general public, are encouraged to attend a community meeting to discuss the proposed rental housing inspection program in North Las Vegas.
The meeting will be 6 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall Council Chambers, 2200 Civic Center Drive, North Las Vegas.
The meeting will include a presentation in Spanish about the program and a question and answer session.

HIV testing scheduled Friday
The Clark County Health District Office of AIDS will promote confidential HIV testing for Latino AIDS Awareness Day 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday at these locations:
Ravenholt Public Health Center, 625 Shadow Lane; 1820 E. Lake Mead Blvd., Suite F; 560 N. Nellis Blvd., Suite E12; 129 W. Lake Mead Parkway, Henderson; ; 6330 W. Spring Mountain Road, Suite F, and Laughlin Community Center, 55 Civic Way.

Lied Discovery Children's Museum,
833 Las Vegas Blvd. North, will present an intergalactic educational program 1-3 p.m. Saturday. A former astronaut will be on hand to teach the science of space, with entertaining stories and videos from his experience.
