The Nevada Commission for National and Community Service is honoring the 15 finalists for the Governor's Points of Light Award beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Rio.
The award program recognizes individuals and organizations for their dedication, commitment, and determination in promoting and supporting volunteerism throughout the state.
Individual finalists are Carol Moore of Reno, Lora Myles of Carson City, Michalle Shown of Reno, Jewel Burton-Avery of Pahrump, Rachael Lambin of Gardnerville, Mike Moody of Fallon, Janet Dobry of Henderson and Mark Eisinger and Mary Vail, both of Las Vegas.
Nonprofit finalists are: The Children's Cabinet, Helping Hands of Vegas Valley and Junior League of Reno.
Corporate finalists are: Nevada Power Co., Station Casinos and Wells Fargo Bank. Call (888) 338-9759.
