Two men sought in fatal shooting
Metro Police are seeking two men for questioning in connection with a shooting death Oct. 7 at Boulder Station.
Timothy M. Coleman Jr. and Anthony O. Cajoe, both 20, are believed to have been present when the shooting occurred.
Police said the violence was sparked by an earlier argument at a motel at Tropicana Avenue and Boulder Highway. The argument led to a car chase down Boulder Highway that ended in the parking lot of Boulder Station.
Prince Albert Tillman Jr., 49, died of a gunshout wound in the torso, the coroner's office said. A passenger was wounded.
Anyone with information on Coleman or Cajoe is asked to call police at 229-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
9/11 license plate is released
The "United We Stand" license plate to honor those who died in the 9/11 attack is being released, the state Department of Motor Vehicles said today.
The plate features an American bald eagle in front of a U.S. flag and the phrases "United We Stand" and "We Will Never Forget."
Assemblywoman Vonne Chowning, D-North Las Vegas, authored the bill to create the plate at the 2003 Legislature to raise money for police and fire training and for purchase of emergency equipment.
The plate cost is $61 for standard numbering and $96 for personalized numbering or lettering. Of the total, $25 of the first purchase and a $20 annual renewal fee is to go to the state Emergency Response Commission to finance state and local first responders in planning, training and equipment purchases.
Woman found dead is identified
A woman found dead Sunday in the Knotty Pine motel in North Las Vegas has been identified as 51-year-old Vevlyn Ann Dupree of Las Vegas.
Police said they are looking for witnesses and would like to speak with 57-year-old Lawrence Sears of Las Vegas, who was apparently seen in the area around the time of the slaying and may have information.
Anyone with information on Sears is asked to call North Las Vegas Police at 633-9111 or Crime Stoppers at 385-5555.
