UNLV athletic director Mike Hamrick said he's still very early in his search to find a replacement for John Robinson and said he preferred not to talk about it during the season.
"It's waaaaay early and we don't want it to become a distraction to the team," Hamrick said. "That's why I'm not going to say anything more about it."
MWC assistant commissioner for communications Javan Hedlund said Thompson had no comment on the matter.
At his weekly luncheon on Monday at the Bahama Breeze restaurant, Robinson said he counted "six clearly bad calls" in the game and "all six were against us and all were by officials on that (BYU's) side of the field."
ESPN2 announcers broadcasting the game also pointed out the frequent miscues.
"I've never seen anything like that," Robinson said. "But it's not something I want pursue publicly anymore. ... It's out of my hands and it should be."
Robinson even joked about what he would say if referee Scott Novak's crew worked another UNLV game this season.
"If I see those guys again I'm going to say, 'Hey, you owe me six,' " Robinson said.
