Exhibition space expanded

World Market Center officials announced this morning that the first Las Vegas market -- scheduled for July -- will be expanded by 40 percent.

The market will now encompasses 2.3 million square feet of permanent and temporary exhibition space, up from the 1.6 million square feet that was originally planned. The date also will be pushed back a week to July 25-29.

The market will now coincide with the Association of Woodworking & Furnishings Suppliers trade show.

The World Market Center expansion includes 630,000 square feet of exhibition space at the Las Vegas Convention Center, with provisions to add more space as needed. The World Market Center expects to host up to 700 exhibitors for the first Las Vegas market.

A continuous shuttle program will be offered each day of market between the World Market Center, the Las Vegas Convention Center, and hotels.
