Payday loan company plans 12 valley stores

FastBucks, a Dallas-based payday loan company, plans to open 12 payday loan advance stores throughout the Las Vegas Valley by 2006. The first of the stores is set to open on Marks Street in Henderson by Nov. 1.
Chuck Woolweaver, a company spokesman, said the stores will employ between two and three people each. The company says it stands apart from other payday loan companies because FastBucks requires customers to have a bank account, it specializes only in short-term loans and it uses a software program to determine an applicant's loan amount similar to a credit check.
The company has more than 50 stores throughout the country.
