NLV will host Northern Exposure
The North Las Vegas Parks and Recreation Department's fourth annual Northern Exposure 10k race and 2-mile fun run begins with registration at 7:30 a.m. Saturday at Seastrand Park, Camino Elorado and Centennial Parkway.
The 10k race is scheduled at 8:30 a.m. The run and walk conclude with a health fair and Kids Fun Fitness Challenge, followed by an awards ceremony.
Registration is $18; $30 on the day of the event and includes an official ract T-shirt. Entry forms can be picked up at the North Las Vegas Neighborhood Recreation Center, 1638 N. Bruce St. or Silver Mesa Recreational Center, 4025 Allen Lane.

Lied features Pattern Wizardry
The exhibit "Pattern Wizardry: Master the Power of Patterns" will be on display through Jan. 2 at Lied Discovery Children's Museum.
The exhibit features four main interactive areas that reveal the variety and prevalence of patterns, and inspires children from ages 4 to 12 to investigate, explore and create their own patterns.
Pattern Wizardry also features a Wizard Library, a computer station where kids can create their own patterns, and Symmetry Sorcery, where kids investigate how symmetry is used to organize patterns.
Museum hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday at 833 Las Vegas Blvd. North.
Admission is $7; $6 for children ages 17 and under, seniors and military families.

War and peace discussion set
"I War and Peace," a conversation about religious teachings and their influence on war and peace, will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday at Las Vegas Baha'i Center, 7035 W. Oakey Blvd.
Speakers will be Rabbi Sanford Akselrad, Congregation Ner Tamid; Dr. Tommy Starkes, Southern Nevada Baptist Association; and Imam Mujahid Ramadan, prison chaplin.
The program is free and open to the public.

The Fall Crafts Faire
to benefit the Myron Heaton Chorale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in front of Charlie Holder's Casino, 920 S. Boulder Highway. Items for sale will include toys, pottery, gift items, clothing, jewelry, crafts and art work. For more information, call 564-7663 or 433-4578.
The Las Vegas branch of the NAACP
will accepting nominations for officers and committee members up to Wednesday, and elections will be held from 12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Nov. 20 at the Community Resource Center, 2424 Martin Luther King Blvd. For more information, call Paul Hunt, nomination chairman, at 638-1300.
