Anthony Albert Arace

Anthony Albert Arace, 84, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born July 15, 1920, in Elizabeth, N.J. A resident for six years, he was a retired clerk for an automotive manufacturer and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Caroline (Wescott) Arace; one son, Richard Arace of Naples, Fla.; one daughter, Cheryl Arace of West Virginia; one stepdaughter, Barbara Wescott of North Las Vegas; one stepson, Robert Wescott of Bucksport, Maine; one sister, Francis Harrigan of Point Pleasant, N.J.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Gene M. Bruner

Gene M. Bruner, 68, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A resident for 24 years, he was born Jan. 7, 1936, in Indiana.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Kay; two daughters, Teresa L. Koerschner of Las Vegas and Jewel E. Walker of Noblesville, Ind.; two sons, Dean E. Bruner of Las Vegas and Kevin D. Bruner of New Jersey; his mother, Lois Sosbe, and one brother, Keith W. Bruner, both of Muncie, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Additional visitation is scheduled two hours prior to an 11 a.m. service Wednesday in the LDS chapel, 1801 S. Monte Cristo Way.

Beulah Bugher

Beulah Bugher, 96, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 13, 1907, in Norwood, Mo. A resident for 41 years, she was a retired hotel housekeeper and a member of the Culinary Union.

She is survived by three sons, Howard Bugher of Las Vegas, Robert Bugher of Gambrills, Md., and Donald William Bugher of Carson City; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m. until noon services Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Elianne Mariette Bureau-McManus

Elianne Mariette Bureau-McManus, 88, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local rehab center. She was born Feb. 26, 1916, in Canada. A resident for 49 years, she was a secretary/treasurer of a golf club and was a homemaker.

She is survived by one sister, Jeannette Blanchette of Thetford Mines, Quebec.

Evelyn A. DeRoo

Evelyn A. DeRoo, 72, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 10, 1931, in Grand Rapids, Mich. A resident for nine years, she was a retired administrative assistant for Bell Telephone and Ameritek.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Gordon DeRoo of Las Vegas; and one brother, Robert Merritt of Grand Rapids, Mich.

Nevada Funeral Service-Nevada Cremation or Burial Society, 2983 Fremont St., is handling private arrangements.

Eric Charles Goldberg

Eric Charles Goldberg, 12 days, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 22, 2004, in Las Vegas.

He is survived by his parents, Martine and Tony Goldberg, and two sisters, Jolie Alisha Goldberg and Hope Briana Goldberg, all of Las Vegas.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane.

Afton Grace Jimenez

Afton Grace Jimenez, 71, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 14, 1933, in Richfield, Utah. A resident for 42 years, she was a retired telephone operator and a member of the Sprint Sunshine Club.

She is survived by her husband, Ricardo; three daughters, Ronda Gainer of Pahrump, Raelynn Beeson of Boulder City and Michelle Couch of Henderson; two sons, Shane Jimenez and Mark F. Jimenez, both of Henderson; one sister, Guila Wilcock of Panaca; 13 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday with a 6 p.m. rosary in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Friday in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 204 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Ann Elizabeth Karaffa

Ann Elizabeth Karaffa, 49, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born July 11, 1955, in Montana. A resident for 44 years, she was an office manager.

She is survived by her companion, Dennis Cramer; one son, Noah Wynia; her mother, Dorothy Wynia; one brother, Joseph Karaffa; and one sister, Jeanne Karaffa.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

David G. Martin

David G. Martin, 67, of North Las Vegas died Friday in North Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 26, 1936, in Bellefonte, Pa. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired Air Force tech sergeant, a Vietnam War veteran, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.

He is survived by two sons, Michael Martin of Warner Robins, Ga., and Senior Master Sgt. Donald Martin of Kadena Air Force Base, Okinawa, Japan; one sister, Cathy Sedlak of Pennsylvania; two brothers, Jack Martin of Pennsylvania and Walter Martin of Florida; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 30 minutes prior to a 10 a.m. service Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be noon Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Winifred L. McClurkin

Winifred L. McClurkin, 79, of North Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 6, 1925, in Missouri. A resident for 25 years, she was a hospital nurse.

She is survived by one son, Robert Thompson of Danville, Ill.; and one great-grandchild.

Mary Ann Merrill

Mary Ann Merrill, 89, of Pensacola, Fla., died Wednesday in a Pensacola care center. She was born July 16, 1915, in Arthyde, Minn. A former resident of Boulder City since 1933, she was a homemaker and a member of the DOES Lodge in Boulder City.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry Merrill of Pensacola and Michael Merrill of El Cajon, Calif.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at 10:30 a.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, followed by entombment in Palm Mausoleum, Boulder City.

Leola Newson

Leola Newson, 62, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born Jan. 25, 1942, in Lake Providence, La. A resident for 40 years, she was a Clark County School District custodian and a member of the Tallulah Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Stephanie Harris of Las Vegas; seven brothers, Charlie Blake, William Blake, Christopher Blake and Stanley Blake Sr., all of Las Vegas, Ernest Blake of Pine Mountain, Ga., Robert Blake Sr. of Fort Worth, Texas, and Zelma Blake of Gary, Ind.; five sisters, Flora Blake of Las Vegas, Carmen Newson and Belva Newson, both of Oakland, Calif., and Walteree Stanfield and Willie Lee Blake, both of Gary; and one grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled noon-7 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Greater Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, 1915 Lexington St. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Mary Pawlak

Mary Pawlak, 82, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. She was born April 22, 1922, in New Jersey. A resident for 34 years, she was a retired school custodian.

She is survived by one son, Wayne Laska of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be 12:40 p.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Beverly Faye Stewart

Beverly Faye Stewart, 51, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born Aug. 6, 1953, in Rosedale, Miss. A resident for 44 years, she was a waitress.

She is survived by two sons, Cedric Stewart and Darrius Stewart, and three brothers, Robert Austin, Leon Austin and Leo Austin, all of Las Vegas; three sisters, Delois Jamerson of North Las Vegas and Betty Smith and Ceola Richard, both of Las Vegas; and four grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Josee Toth

Josee Toth, 77, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born June 22, 1927, in Belgium. A resident for four years, she was a retired bookkeeper.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Heather Toth; and four grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Doris Whipple

Doris Whipple, 89, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born March 17, 1915, in Panguitch, Utah. A resident for 71 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Deloris Stanton of Rexburg, Idaho, Patricia Coon and Helen Whipple, both of Las Vegas; three sons, James Whipple and Dennis Whipple, both of Las Vegas, and Harold Whipple of Sonora, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled Monday. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., handled arrangements.

Shirley Syvonnie Willis

Shirley Syvonnie Willis, 68, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Sept. 14, 1936, in Dominion, Nova Scotia. A resident for 17 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; one son, Robert Lish of Las Vegas; three stepdaughters, Athena Salseig of Portland, Ore., Glory Breese of Potter Valley, Calif., and Charyl Van Pool of Reno; one sister, Frances Christoff of Dominion; and four grandchildren.
