Shots at Siegfried, Roy’s house probed
Monday, Oct. 4, 2004 | 9:34 a.m.
A gunman fired six shots at the home of Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn last week and yelled that the entertainers needed to leave the country, Metro Police said.
The blasts broke two windows and left a 12-inch hole at the residence, though nobody was injured.
According to a police report, a witness was working in the yard Sept. 23 when he heard the driver of a white van yell, "We need to get these mother (expletive) Siegfried and Roy out of our country."
The van drove by the residence in the 1600 block of Valley Drive twice in the evening, with the driver shooting two times in the first run and returning soon after with four more shots, a witness told police.
The gunman is described as a white man with shoulder-length hair and a full beard.
A spokesman for Siegfried and Roy said the shooting is a police matter and declined comment.
The shooting is considered a hate crime and the investigation is being handled by the gang crimes section.
