Elizabeth T. Bamberger

Elizabeth T. Bamberger, 84, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local care center. She was born Dec. 27, 1919, in Savannah, Ga. A resident for 15 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Jack M.; one son, Richard A. Bamberger of Sykesville, Md.; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling private arrangements.

Elenore Bossart

Elenore Bossart, 70, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born March 23, 1934, in Austria. A resident for 35 years, she was a retired schoolteacher.

She is survived by her husband, Theodor Franz; two sons, Theodor and Michael; one brother, Karl; one sister, Marlene; and three grandchildren.

Mass will be celebrated 5 p.m. Wednesday in St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 1111 Michael Way. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Juanita Artates DeLa Cruz

Juanita Artates DeLa Cruz, 78, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 22, 1926, in the Philippines. A resident for 20 years, she was a retired schoolteacher.

She is survived by four daughters, Fe Vargas of Detroit, Erlinda Rosalin of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Remedios C. Menor and Charito Wojciechowski, both of Las Vegas; three sons, Angelito DeLa Cruz of Las Vegas, Freddie DeLa Cruz of Sterling Heights and Jeffrey DeLa Cruz of Toronto, Ontario; one brother, Felipe Artates Sr., and one sister, Fely Artates Vicente, both of Las Vegas; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Leon H. Friedman

Leon H. Friedman, 71, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born Aug. 19, 1933, in Hammond, Ind. A resident for 31 years, he was a furniture store owner and a member of the board of directors of the Better Business Bureau, Jewish Family Services and Jewish Federation of Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife, Norma; one son, Brad Friedman of Henderson; one daughter, Jodi Friedman, and one sister, Deanne Stralser, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Jerald Friedman of Henderson; and two grandchildren.

Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Barbara F. Hartman

Barbara F. Hartman, 68, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born Aug. 18, 1936, in Hobbs, N.M. A resident for 16 years, she was a retired retail saleswoman.

She is survived by five daughters, Sherri Shugren of Henderson, Mary Beth Ortiz of Las Vegas, Lauri Supnet of El Mirage, Ariz., Connie Shugren of Albuquerque and Debbie Relph of Peoria, Ariz.; four brothers; one sister; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 1-3 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Marie Amparo La Bar

Marie Amparo La Bar, 96, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 16, 1908, in Mexico. A resident for many years, she was a retired newspaper clerk.

She is survived by one son, Philip Anthony Medina; two daughters, Celia Raquel Ellis and Lilia "Lulu" Lopez; eight grandhcildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Ray Leatherman

Ray Leatherman, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 8, 1926, in California. A resident for three years, he was a retired chip controller, a Navy veteran and a member of the Elks.

He is survived by his wife, Heather C.; one son, Martin E. Leatherman; two daughters, Victoria E. Baggette and Patti M. Leatherman; one brother, Kenneth A. Leatherman; and four grandchildren.

Florence A. Morrow

Florence A. Morrow, 80, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 18, 1924, in New York. A resident for 34 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Franklyn; three daughters, Diane Wargo, Virginia Real and Linda Werner; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Julia Pellejero

Julia Pellejero, 69, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. She was born May 27, 1935, in Havana. A resident for 14 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Jesus; and two sons, Luis Martinez of Las Vegas and Jesus Martinez of San Diego.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. Monday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd. Services will be noon Tuesday in Affordable Cremation and Burial Service. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Gerald R. Perkins

Gerald R. Perkins, 55, of Pahrump died Tuesday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 1, 1949, in Hollis, Okla. A resident for nine years, he was a heavy duty operator in the construction industry and a veteran of the National Guard.

He is survived by his wife, Debra Hardin; one daughter, Aliceia Brannan of Oklahoma; his mother, Barbara Perkins of Hollis, Okla.; two brothers, Danny Perkins of Hollis and Dean Perkins of Lake Jackson, Texas; one sister, Debbie Perkins of Littlefield, Texas; and one grandchild.

Gerald A. Rico

Gerald A. Rico, 56, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospice. He was born Aug. 11, 1948, in Yuma, Ariz. A resident for 20 years, he was a restaurant manager and a Vietnam War Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Vickie; three sons, Brooks Rico, Bruce Rico and Mickey Rico, all of Las Vegas; four brothers, Rocky Rico, Fred Rico and Tony Rico, all of Yuma, and Mike Castro of Phoenix; and three grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Graveside services will follow at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Bob Ruggiero

Bob Ruggiero, 63, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 2, 1941, in San Francisco. A resident for four years, he was a retired gas company cable splicer and a Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sharron; four daughters, Carole Matteucci of San Lorenzo, Calif., Michelle McGhee and Elene Ruggiero, both of Daly City, Calif., and Lydia Ruggiero of San Francisco; and five grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Stephen Sherry

Stephen Sherry, 93, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospice. He was born Nov. 24, 1910, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for five years, he was a retired public school teacher, past master of the Masons, a member of the Shriners and past patron of the Eastern Star.

He is survived by his wife, Dolly; one daughter, Evelyn Selwyn of Pacific Palisades, Calif.; one son, Doug Leatherman of Moorpark, Calif.; one brother, Jules Sherry of Tampa, Fla.; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be in Los Angeles. King David Memorial Chapel and Cemetery, 2697 Eldorado Lane, is handling arrangements.

Minerva P. Speiss

Minerva P. Speiss, 79, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday in North Las Vegas. A resident for more than 10 years, she was born Nov. 10, 1924, in Laredo, Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Raymond E.; five children, Marianne, Evelyn, Ray Jr., John and James; two sisters, Tina and Sylvia; one brother, Emanuel; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in California. Thomas Miller Mortuary, Corona, Calif., is handling arrangements.

Dora Strait-Oakley

Dora Strait-Oakley, 91, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospice. She was born July 15, 1913, in Moriarty, N.M. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Anna Tuttle, and one son, Brinton Strait, both of Las Vegas; six sisters, Cora Barnard, Margie Mitchell, Luella Willie, Laura Downey, Bernice Maloch and Betty Martin; three brothers, Robert Willie, Richard Willie and Billy Willie; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Cora Lee Williams

Cora Lee Williams, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. She was born Dec. 19, 1930, in Omega, La. A resident for 52 years, she was a beautician, a member of the Black Women's Business Association, Nevada Democratic Party and Nevada Board of Beauticians.

She is survived by two sons, John Williams and Howard Williams, and one daughter, Judy L. Williams, all of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled noon-4 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Madison Ave. Graveside services will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Alice R. Witsaman

Alice R. Witsaman, 88, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. She was born Jan. 4, 1916, in Barberton, Ohio. A resident of Searchlight for 18 years and a Henderson resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Clark O.; one son, James Witsaman of Arlington Heights, Ill.; and five grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday in Palm Chapel, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Martha E. Youree

Martha E. Youree, 91, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. She was born March 13, 1913, in Pulaski, Tenn. A resident for two years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Connie Y. Shelton of Las Vegas; one brother, Tol Grant Eslick of Pulaski; and one grandchild.
