Lender OKs revocation of mortgage license

Controversial Las Vegas real estate agent and lender Eric R. Alpert has agreed to the permanent revocation of his state mortgage license.
The deal between Alpert and the state Mortgage Lending Division includes Alpert's waiving of his rights for a hearing on a show-cause order issued by the state in August.
That order alleged that Alpert submitted to the commission false financial statements for his company, Granite Mortgage & Loan, and that he forged the signature of Las Vegas accountant S. Archie McRimmon Jr. on those documents.
The order also alleged Alpert was using unapproved advertising to promote its business. Alpert could face as much as $30,000 in fines.
In the agreement, signed by Alpert and MLD Commissioner Scott Bice on Sept. 30, no fines were assessed.
Alpert had his real estate license suspended in June for five years by the state Real Estate Commission in connection with four cases of selling or renting property he did not own or control. He will not be eligible for a Nevada real estate license until May 2009.
