Excerpts from the transcript of a 911 call from Lawrence Joyce, who killed his girlfriend and then jumped to his death from Hoover Dam on Tuesday. Joyce's call was handled by dispatcher Aaron Isom.

Dispatcher: Dispatch. Isom 89-90

Caller: 89-90 pay attention to me real carefully OK? I need you to start typing this in, you ready? My name is Lawrence Joyce L-A-W-R-E-N-C-E J-O-Y-C-E. My (unintelligible)

D: Yeah, what's going on there?

C: OK listen, listen. I'm only going to stay on the phone for a minute with you. I'm to give you guys directions to a couple of bodies and then I'm going to kill myself right now on the phone, so I don't need you to say anything I need you to listen because I need you to ...

C: OK very good. Listen you have to understand it was a(n) (expletive) accident OK. It was a(n) (expletive) accident.

D: Where at?

C: Now OK it's at, it's at Treasure Island -- OK. (He gives the room number.) Please take care of her and please get her back to her family.

D: What's her name?

C: I need you guys to go over there now and get her. You run my record OK? You'll know I'm for real. I spent four years in the New Hampshire State Prison for rape and kidnapping, assault and weapons charges, OK?

...D: Lawrence, we're definitely gonna go there and check on it, but we want to make sure you're OK. We don't want you to do anything.

C: Listen, listen, listen. I'm all done and I don't want you talking to me about it. just just go up to the desk just so you know that I'm for real, OK? Last night something happen to me at the bar -- I had four drinks. I started hallucinating, OK? Security came up, I thought they were FBIs. I was cowering in the corner. This is when it happened, this happened ...

C: So I don't know if there was something in my drink but you can talk to security and say that this happen last night and you'll know you have the right guy, all right? So listen, I have to go now -- um in just a few minutes you guys will get a call in, um there's, there's, there's, there's a note on um there's, there's, there's next me with phone numbers to call um and I, I apologize. I don't want you to ever think that you could'nt do any more than you did.

D: Can you tell me where we can find you?

C: Hmmmmmmm huhhhhh ... I can't. Man, I tell you what, you're good. I have to go thank you.
