Letter: Election over, but the causes endure
Monday, Nov. 29, 2004 | 9:10 a.m.
The election is over, but not the fight for what more than 55 million voters value. As a senior citizen, I believe we still need to make Medicare and health care affordable and prevent Social Security from being privatized.
My grandchildren should be protected from huge deficits and be able to live in a cleaner environment. They should be guaranteed a sound, quality public school education. Their rights to organize and bargain collectively should not be diminished and their health and welfare made more secure by intelligent and honorable domestic and foreign policy decisions.
Also, they and generations to follow should not have to fear losing their rights because the judicial system has been hijacked by extremist judges.
