Gasoline pipeline is up and flowing

A burst fuel pipeline that serves as one of the ways gasoline is brought to Las Vegas is repaired and functioning, officials with Kinder Morgan Energy Partners said.
The pipeline was repaired and operating by 6 p.m. Wednesday. It was discovered that it had burst Monday morning near Baker, Calif.
Traffic on nearby Interstate 15 was temporarily shut down Monday morning, but was reopened when it was determined that the broken line posed no threat to travelers.
Officials with Kinder Morgan said they didn't expect the broken line to affect gas prices or supply in the Las Vegas Valley.
The Environmental Protection Agency has allowed for alternative gasoline to be trucked in from California and used in Southern Nevada even though the alternative fuel may not meet winter oxygenated gas regulations in Las Vegas.
The alternative fuel will be allowed to be trucked in to the area as needed until midnight Monday, according to the Oil Price Information Service.
