BOZEMAN, Mont. -- Montana State junior point guard Frank Brown, a 2002 graduate of Durango High School, was arrested on rape charges Tuesday and suspended indefinitely from the team.
Brown, 20, is charged with three counts of rape after police said he had sex with a 15-year-old girl three times in the past week. The age of legal consent in Montana is 16.
Authorities also said the girl was drunk when Brown had sex with her, and in one instance was passed out.
A preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 3.
Brown averaged 8.5 points, 4.5 assists and 3.5 rebounds this season for Montana State (0-2). He was in his second year as the Bobcats' starting points guard. He led the team in assists and was second in steals as a sophomore.
