Red Rock Canyon cleanup scheduled
The Las Vegas Climbers Liaison Council will host a trail improvement and cleanup project in Red Rock Canyon 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday.
The group encourages members of the community to join them in their effort to keep the trails in Red Rock clean and safe against erosion.
Those interested in participating should meet at the Red Rock Canyon Visitors Center at 8 a.m.
The organization will provide supplies such as trash bags, but people are encouraged to bring their own gloves. After the clean-up, participants and those interested in learning more about the group are invited to a party at the Blue Diamond Quonset Hut that kicks off at 7 p.m. Call 254-1143.
Councilman Larry Brown
and Las Vegas Leisure Services will host an evening of fun with children from 6 to 7 tonight at Becker Community School, 9110 Hillpointe Road, as they make decorations and treats for Thanksgiving Day. For more information, call 229-6582.
