LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. -- Officials from the Colorado River Indian Tribes are in discussions with Blythe, Calif., about a possible new casino.
Eric Shepherd, acting tribal attorney general, said CRIT and Blythe officials have been discussing the project. The tribe has approved a memorandum of understanding to work with the city.
The Blythe City Council is expected to consider the agreement on Tuesday.
"This has been something the tribe has been working on for years," Shepherd said.
The tribe, which has land in California and Arizona, has some land very close to the city, and the city suggested they consider building inside Blythe limits, Shepherd said.
