Frank D. 'Andy' Anderson
Frank D. "Andy" Anderson, 87, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local care center. He was born Oct. 26, 1917, in Lancaster, Ky. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired general contractor and a World War II Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; one daughter, Lindy Bryant of Henderson; two sons, Richard E. Anderson of Santa Clarita, Calif., and Robert F. Anderson of Canoga Park, Calif.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 9:30 a.m. until an 11 a.m. service Wednesday in the LDS Spring Valley Ward Relief Society room. Graveside services will be 1:20 p.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Marilyn Bedard
Marilyn Bedard, 72, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local care center. She was born Aug. 14, 1932, in Lowell, Mass. A resident for four years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Paul; two daughters, Donna Spears of Highland, Calif., and Michelle Molnar of Sparks; three sons, Paul Bedard Jr. of Anaheim, Calif., Richard Bedard of Sparks and Michael Bedard of Mission Viejo, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Nov. 30 in Holy Family Catholic Church, 4490 Mountain Vista St. Graveside services will follow at 12:40 p.m. Nov. 30 in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
Joseph B. Bednarik
Joseph B. Bednarik, 76, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 27, 1928, in Campbell, Ohio. A resident for 17 years, he was a retired automotive assembler and a World War II and Korean War veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Lenora; four sons, John, Joe, Jerry and Frank; two daughters, Patty Ann and Gina; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be 7 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
Robert E. Buchanan
Robert E. Buchanan, 76, of Henderson died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born May 7, 1928, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A resident for 27 years, he was a retired Air Force staff sergeant, a World War II veteran, a lifetime member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Disabled American Veterans.
He is survived by his friend, Ken Cotton of Henderson.
Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, is handling private arrangements.
Gene Bykowicz
Gene Bykowicz, 76, of Henderson died Sunday in a local health care center. He was born May 27, 1928, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for three years, he was a retired machine shop superintendent and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy; one daughter, Lisa Ohl, and one granddaughter, Ashley Ohl, both of Henderson; and one grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 1-3 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside services will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.
Robert Stafford Conklin
Robert Stafford Conklin, 60, of Henderson died Nov. 11 in a local hospice. He was born Sept. 28, 1944, in New York. A resident for 25 years, he was self-employed in the automobile industry, now retired and was a Vietnam War Navy veteran.
He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl Conklin-Ross and Linda Braver, both of Henderson; and four grandchildren.
Graveside services were scheduled at 11:20 a.m. today in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., handled arrangements.
Ruby E. Engle
Ruby E. Engle, 80, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local health care center. She was born Feb. 22, 1924, in Lake Crystal, Minn. A resident for nine years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Albert; four sons, Larry H. Engle of Carson, Calif., Allen Engle of Landers, Calif., Albert Engle of Las Vegas and Douglas Engle of Phelan, Calif.; one sister, Doris Kader, and one brother, Sidney Jackson, both of Minnesota; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be noon Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Pearl Ferrando
Pearl Ferrando, 82, of Henderson died Saturday in Cedar City, Utah. She was born Dec. 7, 1921, in Pritchett, Colo. A resident for 14 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Paul Ferrando of Henderson; one sister, Ruby Ward of Springfield, Colo.; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.
Diana Fox
Diana Fox, 44, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born April 23, 1960, in Los Angeles. A resident for 12 years, she was a fast food business manager.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharlean Barraza of Las Vegas and Rachel Deal of Henderson; two sons, Mario Alderete and Kevin Fox, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Salvador Alderete of San Jose, Calif.; and four grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling private arrangements.
Jennie Gowel
Jennie Gowel, 84, of Henderson died Monday in a local hospital. She was born July 13, 1919, in New Hampshire. A resident for four years, she was a shoemaker.
She is survived by one son, Joseph Gowel; and one sister, Sophie Alukonis.
Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Joi Eleanor Hotop
Joi Eleanor Hotop, 74, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. She was born July 6, 1930, in North Hollywood, Calif. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Gayle Gay Hotop-McElroy of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
Affordable Cremation and Burial Service, 2457 N. Decatur Blvd., is handling arrangements.
Ann E. McGowan
Ann E. McGowan, 71, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 12, 1933, in Syracuse, N.Y. A resident for 14 years, she was a retired hotel accountant.
She is survived by her husband, Patrick J.; two sons, Patrick R. McGowan of Henderson and Stephen McGowan of Las Vegas; one daughter, Ellen Lariviere of Las Vegas; and three grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.
The family suggests donations to Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, 1501 N. Las Vegas Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89104.
Diane M. Van De Brooke
Diane M. Van De Brooke, 67, of Henderson died Wednesday in Henderson. She was born May 8, 1937, in Los Angeles. A resident for five years, she was a retired office manager for a land surveying company.
She is survived by her husband, John; three sons, John Van De Brooke of San Francisco, Jeff Van De Brooke of Los Angeles and Joe Van De Brooke of Chino Hills, Calif.; two daughters, Jenny Langton of Henderson and Julie White of Alta Loma, Calif.; one brother, Joe Van De Brooke of Stamford, Conn.; and 11 grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Rose Dominican Hospitals, Siena Campus, 3001 St. Rose Parkway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 12:40 p.m. Wednesday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to St. Francis of Assisi Building Fund, 10075 S. Eastern Ave., No. 114, Henderson, NV 89052.
