As your Nov. 15 article by Launce Rake seems to indicate, increases in property values do not have to equate to an increase in taxes. If property values increase by 50 percent, the tax rate could be decreased and have the tax bill remain the same.
We will all be well-advised to keep an eye on our government officials when they set the tax rates for next year. If our taxes increase they will be responsible, not the increase in property value.
