Metro Police issued a murder warrant Wednesday for the arrest of 41-year-old John Bernard Hemmers in connection with the death of Anthony Wayne Helton in Laughlin last week.
Off-roaders driving in the desert off Needles Highway discovered Helton's body on Nov. 11.
Subsequent investigation led police to issue the warrant against Hemmers charging him with murder, robbery and being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.
Police said Hemmers may be driving Helton's white 2003 Ford F-350. It is a four-door, one-ton diesel pickup truck with an aluminum diamond plated toolbox in the bed and bears Arizona license plate CC09050.
Hemmers also may have a car belonging to a relative of Helton, described as a white 2001 Honda Civic bearing Arizona plates 240PLD.
Hemmers is an American Indian with brown eyes and black hair, about 6 feet tall and 175 pounds. He has numerous tattoos including the name "Holly" on the right side of his neck and "Holly" and "Johnny" on his eyelids.
