Majesco Holdings Inc. has signed a licensing deal with the Golden Nugget hotel and casino in Las Vegas for exclusive rights to create video games under the Golden Nugget brand.
The first products will be "Golden Nugget Casino" for Nintendo's Game Boy Advance system and TV Arcade, Majesco's proprietary games that plug directly into TV sets. The game will allow players to play video poker and slot games including Texas Hold 'Em, Jacks or Better Poker and Double Up Poker. The games will carry a suggested retail price of $19.99 each.
"We believe the appeal of our Golden Nugget Casino products reaches well beyond the video game enthusiast to encompass the larger, worldwide audience of gaming aficionados," Majesco President Jesse Sutton said.
Golden Nugget co-owner Tom Breitling said the partnership is an "extension of our brand marketing."
Edison, N.J.-based Majesco makes video games for major game systems including PlayStation, Nintendo and Microsoft's Xbox.
