Lightweight boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. pleaded not guilty to felony domestic violence in District Court on Tuesday.
The charge against the Las Vegas fighter would be his third offense if convicted, making it a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.
Mayweather, 28, a former World Boxing Council champion, is accused of hitting Josie Harris, the mother of three of his children, in December 2003.
In June, Mayweather was convicted of two counts of misdemeanor battery on charges he punched two women at the nightclub Ra without provocation. He received a one-year suspended sentence.
Mayweather's trial on the felony charge is scheduled for Aug. 1.
