Navy League will celebrate milestone
The Navy League will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Pacific Southwest Region and also 229th anniversary of the Marine Corps at a meeting at 6 p.m. Saturday at the New Frontier.
The meeting will include cocktails and dinner.
Admission is $30 per person. For reservations, call Norma Schaefer at 360-4028.
The Marine Corps Reserve also will be collecting new, unwrapped toys for its Toys for Tots program.
Hanukkah bazaar scheduled Sunday
The Women's League of Temple Beth Sholom will hold its annual Hanukkah bazaar 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at the temple, 10700 Havenwood Lane.
Sellers will offer collectibles, clothing, personalized designs, skin care products and hand-crafted arts. Also, there will be a fair sponsored by the Jewish Community Center.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to observe Temple Beth Sholom's Torah Writing Project, offering congregants the opportunity to inscribe a letter, a word or a section in the congregation's recently created Torah.

KB Home plans drive for toys
KB Home will collect toys for the Salvation Army Monday through Dec. 13. The public is invited to drop off new, unwrapped toys to any of KB Home's 40 developments.
Sales offices are open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. every Tuesday through Sunday and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Mondays.
The toys will be given to children throughout Las Vegas during the Salvation Army's annual toy drive.

Screenings planned on Novasoy tour

Banker Woodrum will be honored
The Apples for Education celebration honoring Larry L. Woodrum, president and chief executive officer of BankWest of Nevada, will begin at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Stardust.
Woodrum is celebrating 50 years in the banking industry.
The event will feature a silent auction featuring an eclectic range of upscale items and music provided by the Desert Choral.

Metro Police officers are presenting
the program "Every 15 Minutes" today and Thursday at Faith Lutheran High School, 2015 S. Hualapai Way. The anti-DUI program involves a staged fatal drunken driving accident and includes school assemblies as well as a video presentation with parent and student actors' feedback.

Durango High School will present
"Ye Olde World Culture Feste 2004" 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday in the courtyard, 7100 W. Dewey Drive, to benefit Durango's performing arts and student organizations.
