Clay Barnes

Clay Barnes, 63, of North Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 5, 1941, in Bakersfield, Calif. A resident for 31 years, he was a maintenance technician for the Las Vegas Valley Water District.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Charlotte; one son, Jamal Coleman of Henderson; four daughters, Autopia Barnes, Ahiai Barnes, Arcacia Barnes and Ashya Taylor, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Momie Barnes, two brothers, Joe Riley Barnes and Felix Barnes, and one sister, Peggy Richmond, all of San Diego; and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Thursday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Bunkers Chapel. Burial will follow in Eden Vale Memorial Park.

Ronald Bercier Sr.

Ronald Bercier Sr., 71, of Las Vegas died Saturday. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; three sons, A.J. Bercier and Ron Bercier Jr., both of Las Vegas, and Kenny Bercier of Lacey, Wash.; three daughters, Susie Hardinger of American Springs, Utah, Tammy Springer of Spokane, Wash., and Terry Giles of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Rita Bollig of Las Vegas and Henrietta Jones of Rusk, Texas; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Las Vegas Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1213, 1601 E. Washington Ave. Burial will be in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Lamart D. Boykin

Lamart D. Boykin, 32, of Las Vegas died Nov. 8 in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 15, 1971, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a hotel worker.

He is survived by his father, John D. Johnson, two brothers, Anthony Boykins and Elijah Boykins, and five sisters, Alice Jones, Gertrude Boykins, Linda Love, Andrea Boykins and Janice Boykins, all of Las Vegas.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Second Baptist Church, 500 W. Madison Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

William Charles Crooker

William Charles Crooker, 51, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 17, 1953, in Salt Lake City. A resident for 40 years, he was a school bus driver and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria; two sisters, Brenda Russell of Jordan, Utah, and Linda Ecker of Las Vegas.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Allen Maurice Jespersen

Allen Maurice Jespersen, 30, of Las Vegas died Thursday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 11, 1928, in Marion, N.D. A resident for 30 years, he was a day laborer for Manpower and an Army veteran.

He is survived by six brothers, Merlin Jespersen, Delano Jespersen, Curtis Jespersen, Roger Jespersen, Ronald Jespersen and Gary Jespersen; and two sisters, Karen Szudera and Joan Anderson.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the American Legion, 733 N. Veterans Memorial Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89101. Garden Memorial Funeral Home, 3600 W. Vegas Drive, is handling arrangements.

David M. Johnson Sr.

David M. Johnson Sr., 76, of Henderson died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born April 23, 1928, in Ivanhoe, N.C. A resident for 13 years, he was a retired chief warrant officer and Korean War Coast Guard veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; four sons, David M. Johnson Jr. and Richard Johnson, both of Las Vegas, Lee Johnson of Old Fort, N.C., and Michael Johnson of Concord, N.C.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.

Jack Mock

Jack Mock, 79, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local health care center. He was born June 4, 1925, in Omaha, Neb. A resident for eight years, he retired as an inspector from McDonnell Douglas after 30 years, was a World War II Navy veteran and a charter member of the Elks since 1957.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine; two sons, Allen Mock of Gavlin Hills, Calif., and Gary Mock of Santa Margarita, Calif.; one sister, Jean O'Neill; two brothers, William R. Mock and Dick Mock; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday and 8-11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Palm Memorial Park.

James W. Motsinger

James W. Motsinger, 67, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. He was born May 8, 1937, in Monterey Park, Calif. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired heavy equipment operator.

He was preceded in death by one son, Bruce Motsinger, and one daughter, Margie Ryan.

He is survived by his wife, Wilma; one son, Steve Motsinger of Monmouth, Ore.; two daughters, Linda Sainford of Phoenix and Dolly Vetter Johnson of Henderson; his father, Ernest Motsinger of Henderson; one sister, Betty Foss of Santa Maria, Calif.; one brother, Robert Motsinger of Denair, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to a 2 p.m. service Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

Joseph F. Petuskey

Joseph F. Petuskey, 79, of New Jersey died Wednesday in New Jersey. He was born Aug. 10, 1925, in Elizabeth, N.J. A former Las Vegas resident, he was an executive for the Golden Nugget in Atlantic City and the Mirage in Las Vegas. He was the past grand knight of St. Vincent de Paul Knights of Columbus, co-founder of the Oakcrest High School football booster club, director of Miss Mays Landing Pageant in the 1970s, active in the Mays Landing Athletic Association, was Mays Landings 1976 Man of the Year, was a World War II Army Air Corps veteran and was retired from the New Jersey State Police.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Bill.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Agnes; three sons, Joe Jr., Bill and Mike; two daughters, Mary Ellen and Beth; two brothers, John and Tom; one sister, Mary Ann; and eight grandchildren.

No local services are scheduled. Boakes Funeral Home Inc., Mays Landing, N.J., is handling arrangements.

Donald Pike

Donald Pike, 64, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born July 31, 1940, in Cucumber, W.Va. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired machinist.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Trecia Delmont of Littleton, Colo., and Joan Torres of Henderson; two sons, Donald Pike II and Gregory Pike, both of Las Vegas; three sisters; four brothers; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Wednesday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson. Additional visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Thursday in Open Arms Church of God, 519 Pueblo Blvd., Henderson.

The family suggests donations to the Angel Fund.

Thomas A. Plein

Thomas A. Plein, 64, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. He was born June 11, 1940, in Racine, Wis. A resident for four years, he was a retired attorney, had an oncology wing named after him at St. Rose Dominican Hospitals Siena campus and was a benefactor for many local charities.

He is survived by his friend, Matthew Frazier of Henderson.

Visitation is scheduled 4-8 p.m. Wednesday with a 5 p.m. service in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
