A former North Las Vegas Detention Center official accused of stealing $437,000 from the jail's inmate fund entered a plea of not guilty in District Court on Monday.
Over more than three years as a supervisor at the jail, 48-year-old Diana Thompson allegedly siphoned the money from the accounts used by inmates to make purchases at the commissary.
She is charged with multiple counts of theft, unlawful acts with computers, misappropriation of public funds and forgery.
Thompson was fired from the jail in July 2003. She is scheduled to stand trial on the charges beginning June 20, 2005.
