Grants to help school projects

Educators at six Clark County schools will share nearly $100,000 in grants for a variety of innovative programs aimed at boosting student achievement.
The Clark County Public Education Foundation announced its annual Leader's Choice Initiative grants last week, with awards ranging from $11,000 to $25,000.
The grants provide educators with seed money to conduct research and test new approaches, said JoAnn Kittrell, spokeswoman for the foundation. Successful programs may then be adopted by other schools, Kittrell said.

Since its inception in 1991 the Clark County Public Education Foundation has raised more than $30 million for Southern Nevada schools with grants, scholarships and programs aimed at boosting academic achievement and raising graduation rates.
