Evelyn Godwin
Evelyn Godwin, 75, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 15, 1928, in Cleveland. A resident for 52 years, she was a retired minister.
She is survived by one sister, Shirlee Strack of Sacramento; and one brother, Paul Simon of Santa Fe, N.M.
A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.
Jack M. Mefferd
Jack M. Mefferd, 77, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. He was born July 19, 1927, in San Francisco. A resident for 16 years, he was a retired civil service accountant and a Korean War Army veteran.
He is survived by four daughters, Diane Robinson of Cayucos, Calif., Lori Simms of El Dorado Hills, Calif., Carrol Cumming of Ontario, Calif., and Jill Mefferd of Las Vegas; one son, Tom North of San Francisco; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling private arrangements.
The family suggests donations to the American Heart Association, 6370 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 1, Las Vegas, NV 89103.
Eduardo 'Edward' Ramos
Eduardo "Edward" Ramos, 82, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 12, 1922, in Calexico, Calif. A resident for six years, he was a car salesman and a World War II Navy veteran.
He is survived by two daughters, Linda Foote of Arroyo Grande, Calif., and Vicki Pyne of Las Vegas; and three grandsons.
Graveside services will be 9:20 a.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.
Kade William Smedley
Kade William Smedley, 2 1/2, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. He was born Dec. 26, 2001, in Las Vegas.
He is survived by his mother, Farrin Smedley, his father, Stanley Skurski, and his grandparents, Rochelle and Richard Smedley, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to an 11 a.m. service Thursday in the LDS Meadows 6th Ward, Carl and Saylor Way. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to Cerebral Palsy.
