New report card to include test scores
Monday, Nov. 8, 2004 | 9:33 a.m.
Parents of some Clark County schoolchildren will soon receive a new report card that will include scores from their child's proficiency exams as well as advice about how to help that child improve.
The reports will be sent to parents of children in grades 3, 5, 8 and 10 who took the Nevada Criterion-Referenced Examination in reading and math or the High School Proficiency Exam in reading and math.
The Nevada Legislature contracted with the Grow Network, a division of McGraw-Hill, to provide the reports, which are funded through the Legislature.
Information about the program is available at www.growparents.com. School district officials also are encouraging parents to attend a free workshop, conducted in English and Spanish, on how to best utilize the reports.
