Letter: What values spurred victory?
Friday, Nov. 5, 2004 | 9 a.m.
The exit polls tell us that the number-one concern on the minds of Bush voters is "moral values."
I am wondering ... is poverty a "moral value"? Is lack of health care for 46 million working Americans a "moral value"? Is the loss of 70 million jobs in the last four years a "moral value"? Are the deaths of more than 1,000 American soldiers in an illegal war in Iraq (that had nothing, whatsoever, to do with 9/11) a "moral value"?
The war on terrorism "over there" (not on our shores) is a joke. We attacked a sovereign nation that was not a threat to the U.S. A dead Iraqi child is still a dead child.
Which "moral values" are we talking about?
