'Heading West' will visit Henderson

The Henderson Parks and Recreation Department will host a performance entitled "Heading West: Over Land and Waterways" featuring Sid Hausman and Tony Norris, at the Black Mountain Recreation Center, 599 Greenway Road, at 2 p.m. on Sunday.

The free performance is part of the department's fall Coffee Shop Sunday series, which brings a variety of performers to recreation facilities throughout Henderson.

"Heading West: Over Land and Waterways" is an exploration of oceans, rivers and trails that served as routes for travelers heading in almost every direction in the 19th century. Through stories, anecdotes and a mix of traditional and original songs, Hausman and Norris bring the drama of early travel in the 19th century of life.
