Seniors need a friend or shopper
Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004 | 9:32 a.m.
The Jewish Family Service Agency is looking for volunteers to help make it possible for seniors to maintain their independence.
The JFSA volunteers are trained to be a friendly visitor or shopper/transportation person, who shops for food for their assigned elderly citizen or drives the senior to the doctor or for physical therapy.
Volunteers pick their own assignments. Each volunteer is given the opportunity to choose their assignment based on interest and ZIP code.
Call Lorraine Rubenstein at 732-0304 to set up an appointment.
