Domestic fight may have led to killing

Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004 | 9:46 a.m.

Police believe a domestic violence incident in Las Vegas may have escalated into the shooting death of an unidentified man in Henderson Monday night.

Henderson Police found a man believed to have been involved in an earlier domestic violence incident with a fatal gunshot wound in the chest about 10:30 p.m. Monday outside of a home in the 3100 block of White Rose Way, spokesman Todd Rasmussen said.

Police had responded to a call that a man was trying to break into the home, near Warm Springs Road and Green Valley Parkway.

Inside the house were the man's wife and an unidentified male friend, Rasmussen said.

Henderson Police said they could not yet release the names of the those involved in the incident and the Clark County coroner's office said the male victim had not been positively identified.

Metro Police responded to a domestic battery between the husband and wife about 8:40 p.m. Monday at condos located at 1420 Hialeah Drive, off Maryland Parkway near UNLV, spokesman Sgt. Chris Jones said. The woman was injured on her face and said her husband was drunk, had beaten her and had thrown her clothes into a trash bin, Jones said. The husband had already fled the scene when officers arrived.

Rasmussen said Henderson Police believed the wife's male friend may have shot the husband, but they were still investigating his death.
