Tai Chi classes set Tuesday at District

Classes in Tai Chi, the ancient Chinese discipline that integrates mind, body, and spirit are being held every Tuesday at the District at Green Valley Ranch.

Tai Chi Tuesdays will be taught every Tuesday at 9 a.m. throughout November. Classes, which are free to the public, take place in the grass just south of the center sculpture. It is recommended that participants wear comfortable clothes and shoes. There is no previous experience necessary and classes are taught by Master Jon Spiel who has five years of extensive Tai Chi experience under his belt.

Liberace Legacy of Giving exhibit set

The Liberace Legacy of Giving exhibit will be on display 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Liberace Museum, 1775 E. Tropicana Ave.

The exhibit, celebrating 25 years of charitable donations, is an interactive two-part exhibit presenting 3-D and digitized examples of 2,200 Liberace Scholars' works in music, visual arts, dance, video, fashion design, film and more.

The event will also feature a cocktail reception and silent auction.

Boulder City plans Airport Day Saturday

Boulder City will host its first Airport Day Saturday at Boulder City Municipal Airport, featuring aerobatics, parachuting and many vintage aircraft on display.

Admission is free. Gates will open at 8 a.m.

The EAA/Young Eagle program will offer free airplane rides 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. for kids ages 8-17 on a first-come, first-served basis.

Refreshments will be available from local vendors.

New Vista plans benefit golf event

New Vista Community, which provides accommodations for adults with disibilties, will host its third annual benefit golf tournament starting with registration at 6:30 a.m. Monday at the Siena Golf Club, 10575 Siena Monte Ave.

Tournament players are given a day on the greens with special games and prizes.

Everyone is invited to participate in the tournament.

Admission is $175, which includes a cart, golf balls, green fees, lunch, a goodies bag, and golf polo or vest.

Recycle pumpkins by turning

them into feed for livestock. Now through Wednesday, the 12th annual jack-o-lantern collection locations will be at: Sunset Station and K-Marts at 10405 S. Eastern Ave., Henderson; 8007 W. Sahara Ave. and Centennial Parkway and U.S. 95. For more information, call 642-0350.

Fred Travalena, known for his impressions
