The Clark County Public Education Foundation presented $539,250 in scholarships to 151 students Thursday during a ceremony and luncheon at the House of Blues in Mandalay Bay.
The scholarships varied in amounts and eligibility requirements and were provided by a cross section of community leaders, businesses, organizations and individuals.
This year, 921 graduating high school seniors applied for the scholarships with a variety of criteria including financial need, academic achievement and planned area of study.
Sponsored fields of study include traditional areas such as business, education, technology, finance, science and the arts as well as various trade programs.
Since it began in 1991, the foundation has awarded $1,726,950 through its scholarship program.
