Lady Rebels sign transfer from KU

Lauren Ervin, a 2003 McDonald's High School All-American and a freshman at Kansas last season, has signed to play for the UNLV women's basketball team beginning in the fall of 2005, head coach Regina Miller announced Tuesday. Ervin will sit out next season due to NCAA transfer eligibility rules.

Ervin, a 6-foot-4 forward, was ranked as the No. 2 prospect nationally by several recruiting analysts while playing for Inglewood (Calif.) High. She averaged a double-double both her sophomore and senior seasons, including 24 points and 18 rebounds per game her senior year.

Diego Maradona is in a rigorous rehab program for drug abuse and is considering further treatment outside Argentina, his doctor said Tuesday. The 43-year-old soccer great, who led Argentina to the 1986 World Cup title, has been at a psychiatric hospital in suburban Buenos Aires since early May when he was rushed to a clinic for lung and heart problems.

Liverpool needs the cash to buy new players and build a bigger stadium. Thailand would have two of the 12 seats on the team's board in the unusual deal.
