Seven candidates withdraw from November elections
Wednesday, May 26, 2004 | 9:38 a.m.
Seven candidates officially withdrew from the Sept. 7 primary through Tuesday, the last day for which candidates could take their names off the ballot.
Although Republican Dennis Fox, an Assembly 37 hopeful, went to the wrong office to withdraw Tuesday, Clark County Registrar of Voters Larry Lomax said today his withdrawal will be accepted among those seven.
Fox's withdrawal leaves Republicans Scott Anderson and Sandra Vitolo to battle it out for an opportunity to meet Democratic incumbent Marcus Conklin in the general runoff. Conklin is unchallenged.
Earlier this week, Republican Tim Cory officially withdrew from the Clark County Commission District F race against Lynette Boggs McDonald, who was appointed to the commission in April.
That leaves just McDonald and John "Rob" Bishop in the GOP race. In the Democratic primary are Assemblyman David Goldwater and Bob Taylor.
