NLV officer in fatal shooting will be named

The name of an undercover North Las Vegas Police officer who shot and killed a suspect who allegedly fired a shot at him last month will be revealed at the July 23 coroner's inquest, officials said.
North Las Vegas Police wanted to keep the identity of the officer secret because they feared it would compromise his safety. But by the time the inquest occurs, the officer's cases will be wrapped up, Officer Tim Bedwell said.
"He was involved in some things that needed to be concluded," he said. "There was never any intention to withhold it for a long length of time."
