Hamrick named to baseball committee

UNLV athletic director Mike Hamrick has been appointed to the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee, immediately replacing New Mexico AD Rudy Davalos on the board, the NCAA confirmed Thursday.

Hamrick will serve on the committee for a three-year period with his term expiring in September of 2006.

The committee, which determines the field for the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament, is chaired by Charles L. Carr, peer reviewer and senior associate athletics director at Florida State University.
