Florence Dolly Canepa
Florence Dolly Canepa, 93, of Pioche died Monday. She was born Feb. 22, 1911, in Stockholm, Sweden. A resident for 40 years, she was a retired nurse.
She is survived by four sons, Chester Canepa Jr., of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Donald Canepa of Eureka and George Canepa and Dale Canepa, both of Las Vegas; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled one hour prior to 1 p.m. services Saturday at the Pioche LDS chapel, followed by burial in the Pioche Cemetery. Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave., is handling arrangements.
Carolyn Fay Cook
Carolyn Fay Cook, 56, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 25, 1947, in Las Vegas. A longtime resident, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Walter; three sons, Tony Herrington of Las Vegas, Mark Bray of Arkansas and Kelly Bray of Virginia; one daughter, Sheila Bray of Las Vegas; one sister, Sherry Coates of Bartow, Fla.; five brothers, David Herrington of Las Vegas, Gary Herrington of Bartow, Ronald Herrington of Mississippi and Danny Herrington and James Herrington, both of Michigan; and 13 grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m to 7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary, Downtown.
Lakisha Marie Denkins
Lakisha Marie Denkins, 19, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Aug. 14, 1984, in San Antonio. A resident for two years, she was a saleswoman.
She is survived by her mother, Debra L. Denkins of Las Vegas; her father, Lavon T. Denkins of St. Louis, Mo.; her twin sister, Tinisha Reese, and one brother, Derek Denkins, both of Las Vegas; her grandmother, Alberta Denkins of St. Louis; and her great-grandmother, Ester Hughlett of Braden, Tenn.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Nellis Air Force Base Chapel.
Carmella 'Carla' Frasier
Carmella "Carla" Frasier, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 8, 1929, in Buffalo, N.Y. A resident for 30 years, she was a retired hotel retail operations director for the Aladdin and a founding member of St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Mark Frasier of Las Vegas; and one brother, Michael Aliberti of Buffalo.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. until a 9:30 a.m. rosary Friday, followed by Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph, Husband of Mary Catholic Church, 7260 W. Sahara Ave. Burial will be in Palm Valley View Mortuary. Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd., is handling arrangements.
The family suggests donations to Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada, 1501 N. Las Vegas Blvd. North, Las Vegas, NV 89101.
David Gainer
David Gainer, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 18, 1922, in Missouri. A longtime resident, he was an aircraft mechanic.
He is survived by his wife, Doris.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Riverside, Calif. Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
James Edward Gray
James Edward Gray, 47, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born April 1, 1957, in Grady, Ark. A resident for 30 years, he was a security guard.
He is survived by his companion, Vicki Block; three brothers, Frank Beasley, Prince Beasley and Raymond L. Gray, all of Las Vegas; five sisters, Myra Gray and Jearlean Beasley, both of North Las Vegas, Lena V. Allen of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Mable L. Foster and Hattie Mae Gray, both of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Thomas and Jones Chapel, followed by a private burial.
Soon Hee Han
Soon Hee Han, 72, of Las Vegas died Friday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 2, 1931, in Korea. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Won Young Kong of Los Angeles.
No local services are scheduled. Burial will be in Whittier, Calif. Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.
Virginia M. Meyer
Virginia M. Meyer, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. She was born Oct. 12, 1920, in Detroit. A resident for six years, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred; one son, Charles V. Meyer of Petoskey, Mich.; one daughter, Nancy Saitta of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday in Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 8601 Del Webb Blvd.
The family suggests donations to Mountain View Presbyterian Church, 8601 Del Webb Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89134, or the Adoption Exchange of Nevada.
William Reed
William Reed, 82, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Aug. 30, 1921, in Hannibal, Mo. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired production supervisor and a World War II Air Force veteran.
He is survived by two sons, Stephen Reed of Plano, Texas, and Michael Reed of Glen Ellyn, Ill.
Visitation is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be 10:40 a.m. Monday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City.
Ralph Salend
Ralph Salend, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local care center. He was born Sept. 14, 1919, in Brooklyn, N.Y. A resident for 18 years, he was a retired letter carrier.
He is survived by one son, Michael Salend of Las Vegas.

Ronald Shahan
Ronald Shahan, 46, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local care center. He was born Dec. 14, 1957, in Rankin, Texas. A resident for 40 years, he was a laborer.
He is survived by one son, Aaron Grove of San Francisco; his father, Vernon Shahan, and two sisters, Janice Silva and Debra Renolds, all of Las Vegas.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until noon services Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.
Jayne Smith
Jayne Smith, 72, of Henderson died Monday in a local care center. She was born Oct. 26, 1931, in Waverly, Neb. A resident for three years, she was a retired personnel manager at Goodyear tire company.
She is survived by two sisters, Janette Smith and Hazel Dean, both of Crescent City, Calif.; and one brother, Leonard Smith of Lincoln, Neb.

Kevin B. Taggart
Kevin B. Taggart, 27, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born May 6, 1977, in California. A resident for two years, he was an electronics technician.
He is survived by his father, William H. Taggart; his mother and stepfather, Sharanne and Earl Roth; three brothers, William Christopher Taggart, Charles Russel Taggart and Steven Scott Taggart; and four sisters, Laura Christine Day, Jennifer Michelle Allsup, Carla Marie Bruington and Katherine Ann Taggart.
Visitation is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. services Saturday in the LDS Eldorado Heights chapel, 1101 N. Pecos Road, followed by burial in Memory Gardens.
