Letter: Remember the real enemy
Thursday, May 20, 2004 | 8:37 a.m.
OK folks, time to step back, take a deep breath, relax, and remember we are at war with an enemy whose sole purpose in life, starting as schoolchildren, is to destroy the United States and Americans and our way of life.
These photos of the prisoners in Iraq are child's play compared to murdering 3,000 Americans in the World Trade Center. How humiliating was it for the hundreds of Americans who jumped to their deaths? These prisoners are still alive but 3,000 of our fellow Americans are not -- only because they went to work on Sept. 11, 2001.
America does not show pictures of her dead, but Iraqis proudly display our dead by burning and hanging some from a bridge.
So, let's get out those videotapes of the WTC and play them again. And then thank God we have a leader who says, "No! Not on my watch!"
Shame on the opposition for using dead Americans as political fodder.
Now relax, because we can.
