Letter: Wrong message from ethics panel
Tuesday, May 18, 2004 | 9:26 a.m.
I am having a difficult time trying to figure out what the Nevada Ethics Commission is for. This is the fourth time I have seen the commission slap someone on the wrist and tell them they better not do things like that again. The commission is not much good for anything as far as I can see.
Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman said he will run the city just the way he wants and will do just what he wants. The Ethics Commission has just given him the go-ahead to do just this. I hope the commissioners realize they may have let loose a tiger, or something worse.
