Campbell Concrete of Nevada Inc. has agreed to pay $125,000 and establish non-discriminatory policies to settle a lawsuit the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed on behalf of a former employee in September.
The suit was filed on behalf of Belina Garcia, a former dispatcher of Mexican descent. Garcia said she was disciplined and later fired after complaining to management that she and other Mexican employees had been harassed about Mexican traditions, food, dress and customs by supervisors and other employees.
Campbell President and founder Steven Campbell said in a statement that the Las Vegas company is committed to providing a workplace that is free from discrimination.
