Two Nevadans join Bush panel
Thursday, May 13, 2004 | 9:31 a.m.
Two high-profile Nevada women will join almost 200 others around the nation to form a new task force to re-elect President Bush, called the "W. Stands for Women" Leadership Team.
County Commissioner Lynette Boggs McDonald and first lady Dema Guinn will participate in the team, which includes important Republicans such as presidential advisers Mary Matalin and Karen Hughes and Labor Secretary Elaine Chao.
A press release on the committee touted Bush's work on the No Child Left Behind Act, his tax cuts and the "greater opportunity and prosperity" for women in Iraq and Afghanistan as examples of how Bush has pushed rights of women.
