Dennis Frank Baer

Dennis Frank Baer, 51, of Las Vegas died May 6 in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 2, 1952, in Texas. A resident for many years, he was a laborer in the construction industry.

He is survived by one cousin, Linda Strobel of Poway, Calif.

Burial will be in Boulder City Cemetery, 501 Adams Blvd. Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson, is handling arrangements.

Bernard Carlton

Bernard Carlton, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born June 4, 1919, in East Pittsburgh, Pa. A resident for 20 years, he was a retired railroad conductor and a World War II Army Air Corps veteran.

He was preceded in death by one son, Dr. Frederick Carlton.

He is survived by his wife, Anna; one son, Howard Carlton of Las Vegas; and one sister, Rosella Herman of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

A. Dusty Clark

A. Dusty Clark, 67, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 5, 1936, in California. A resident for 27 years, she was a retired restaurant manager and 1986 National Humanitarian Award winner.

She is survived by her husband, David; one son, Guy Tautenhaha of San Mateo, Calif.; one daughter, Pam Coor of San Jose, Calif.; and two grandchildren.

Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

Vera Edwards

Vera Edwards, 75, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. A housekeeper at the Gold Coast, she was born June 9, 1928, in Coosa County, Ala.

She is survived by two sons, Otis Edwards and Cleveland "Cle" Edwards, both of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. today and Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 1240 W. Adams Ave. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Oswald Grenier

Oswald Grenier, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 4, 1916, in Maine. A resident for 39 years, he was a retired hotel manager and a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He is survived by four sons, Oswald Grenier III, Charles Grenier and Robert Grenier, all of Florida, and Ronald Grenier of Kentucky; one daughter, Marion Ribera of Florida; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 12:40 p.m. Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St., is handling arrangements.

Jessie Marie Hinson

Jessie Marie Hinson, 40, of Henderson died Tuesday. She was born Oct. 10, 1963, in Portland, Ore. A resident for 13 years, she was a maintenance worker at a health care facility.

She is survived by her mother, Eileen A.; two sisters, Debbie Flores of Sparks and Virginia Bradshaw of Henderson; and five brothers, Dennis Hinson, Leslie Hinson and Virgil Hinson, all of Racine, Wis., Kenny Hinson of Phoenix and Robert Hinson of Chicago.

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

Carrie A. Johnson

Carrie A. Johnson, 97, of Las Vegas died Thursday in Las Vegas. She was born Jan. 2, 1907, in Arcadia, La. A resident for 40 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, John D. Johnson Jr. and Willie Johnson, and two daughters, Joan Johnson and Mary Fortune, all of Las Vegas; 14 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 2-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Main. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Park.

Janet Tursini Kotelnycky

Janet Tursini Kotelnycky, 58, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born May 21, 1945, in Newark, N.J. A resident for 49 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; two sons, Deano Kotelnycky and Jamie Kotelnycky, and one brother, Vincent Tursini, all of Las Vegas; two sisters, Elaine Benson of Reno and Lisa Lasky of Las Vegas; and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be 6 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

Clarence C. McCutcheon

Clarence C. McCutcheon, 77, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 22, 1926, in Texas. A resident for three years, he was a custodian.

He is survived by his wife, Edith; six sons, Robert Thomas, Raymond McCutcheon, Bobby McCutcheon and Kenneth McCutcheon, all of California, and Charles Thomas and Michael McCutcheon, both of Las Vegas; one daughter, Rahimah Lateef of New Jersey; one sister, Vollie Blanton of Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 3-8 p.m. today in Thomas and Jones Funeral Home, 310 Foremaster Lane. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Victory Missionary Baptist Church, 500 W. Monroe Ave. Burial will follow in Paradise Memorial Gardens, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

Aubey Anne McDaniel

Aubey Anne McDaniel, 42, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 8, 1962, in South Carolina. A resident for 14 years, she was a reprographics tech in the computer industry.

She is survived by her mother, Dorothy E. McDaniel; and one brother, Michael Glen McDaniel.

Cecil Dale Nethers, 64, of Corpus Christi, Texas, died May 4. He was born Feb. 10, 1940, in Oldtown, Md. A former Las Vegas resident, he was a retired Excalibur security officer and a retired Arlington (Va.) County police officer.

He was preceded in death by one brother; and two sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; two sisters, Vivian Fay Duckworth and Janice Marie Hersh.

A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Davis United Methodist Church Cemetery, Cumberland, Md. Premier Cremation and Funeral Care, Corpus Christi, Texas, is handling arrangements.

Stanley F. Nowak

Stanley F. Nowak, 86, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in a local hospital. He was born Feb. 21, 1918, in Chicago. A resident for six years, he was a retired accountant and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes; one son, James D. Nowak, and one daughter, Marian Sylvester, both of Las Vegas; one sister, Linda Killian of Chicago; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be noon Friday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave., is handling arrangements.

Kurt Francis Peckman

Kurt Francis Peckman, 43, of Henderson died Saturday in Henderson. He was born May 27, 1960, in Milwaukee. A resident for 32 years, he was a Review Journal distributor, sponsored and coached two soccer teams for SageBrush Soccer League, was a member of the U.S. Youth Soccer League and Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy S.; one stepdaughter, Judy Tudor of Las Vegas; one stepson, William Paquette of Henderson; four brothers, Keith Peckman, Kevin Peckman and Kent Peckman, all of Las Vegas, and Ron Peckman of Texas; and three granddaughters, Alexis Tudor, Alyssa Tudor and Amber Paquette.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Additional visitation and Mass is scheduled at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Viator Catholic Church, 2461 E. Flamingo Road. Graveside services will follow in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

John Albert Robinson

John Albert Robinson, 71, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 7, 1932, in Mississippi. A resident for 24 years, he was a retired casino porter and Air Force veteran.

He is survived by two daughters, Joyce Finch and Barbara Trammell; one sister, Jessie Vickers; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A memorial service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

Daniel W. Schartung

Daniel W. Schartung, 35, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 21, 1969, at RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom. A resident for one year, he was a electronics parts distributor.

He is survived by his life partner, Eric Lough of Las Vegas; his parents, Donald and Roberta Schartung, and one brother, Michael Schartung, all of Westminster, Calif.; and one sister, Michelle Schartung of Las Vegas.

Paul William Skulborstad

Paul William Skulborstad, 53, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Nov. 3, 1950, in Aberdeen, S.D. A resident for 8 1/2 years, he was a grade checker in the construction industry.

He is survived by one brother, John Skulborstad of South Dakota; and one sister, Mary Christianson of Illinois.

Dorothy Wills

Dorothy Wills, 83, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born April 24, 1921, in Joplin, Mo. A resident for 38 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Joyce Bouchard, and one son, Luther J. Wills II, both of Las Vegas; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Visitation is scheduled 4-7 p.m. Friday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday in Palm Chapel, Eastern. Burial will follow in Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

Duane S. Zambo

Duane S. Zambo, 65, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 19, 1938, in McKeesport, Pa. A resident for 26 years, he was a salesman in the entertainment industry.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Sherwood-Zambo; three daughters, Kerry Johnson of Chicago, Teri Zambo of Kauai, Hawaii, and Kaitlin Sherwood-Zambo of Las Vegas; two brothers, Larry Zambo of Pittsburgh and Bob Zambo of Phoenix; one sister, Cheryl Salas of Phoenix; and five grandchildren.
