Letter: U.S. efforts are not appreciated
Wednesday, May 12, 2004 | 8:50 a.m.
The Sun recently published a front-page photo of a young Iraqi man dancing on a burning U.S. Army vehicle. Aren't we in Iraq to build schools, hospitals, roads, bridges, water pipelines and to get the country's oil industry up and running? And aren't we there to fulfill President Bush's vision of giving the Iraqi people a democracy?
It's a good thing we're there as friends. I wonder how bad things would be if we were there as enemies.
